In figures 2 and 3 species richness and regional habitat importance indices (RHII) are displayed to help illustrate the added information revealed by the RHII values.  Values for the birds and fish are depicted by the color shades in these maps.  Shades range from yellow, representing low richness or RHIIs, to red, representing high richness or RHII values.  The higher the RHII values found in an area the more vulnerable species are to changes to their potential habitat.
